Silas Condict Park Emergency Repair

Client: Morris County Park Commission (MCPC)

Part of an overall annual contract with MCPC; OCC was contacted by MCPC engineering after a sudden weekend rainstorm left certain parts of the roadway edge blown away and destroyed which created a hazard for park traffic and pedestrians. It was crucial for OCC personnel and MCPC personnel to brainstorm together on potential solutions that were impactful, and within the budget for this time-sensitive repair. OCC & MCPC representatives decided to move forward with an embankment support structure that provided stability and strength for water being drained down the roadway to prevent any future issues that could arise during a similar storm. OCC moved forward with a plan to install roughly 600 LF precast concrete support wall below the existing surface road grade to provide embankment support.
